March 19, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce FC Barcroft as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Arlington, VA, FC Barcroft will begin UPSL play in the Northeast Conference Beltway Division. The club will host its home games at  Fairland Regional Park (13950 Old Gunpowder Rd, Laurel, MD, 20707).

FC Barcroft was founded by Andrew McPhee, a former PSV Eindhoven Academy youth player. The club previously played in the Washington Premier League but now competes exclusively in the UPSL.

UPSL Northeast Conference Manager Paul Konneh said, "FC Barcroft is a welcome addition to the UPSL's Beltway Division. The club has very smart leadership and has proven itself at the local level. They're looking for a bigger challenge and they're going to find it in the UPSL. This is the league for clubs looking to grow, and we're excited to see FC Barcroft become a member ahead of the Spring Season."

Kell Phillips is Technical Director for FC Barcroft. Phillips served as an Assistant Coach at Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL/NPSL) and Las Vegas Lights FC (USL Championship).

"We believe the quality of our roster and coaching staff aligns with the UPSL standard. We have a parallel vision that coincides with the League. The UPSL also aligns with our  mission to provide a platform for our players at the next level and in pursuit of playing professionally," McPhee said. "2021 allowed for the addition of a high-caliber technical director as well as many new, talented players, and the organization wanted to make the step up to better competition levels."

Andrew Collins and Elmer Navarrette are team captains.

"We are excited and humbled to join UPSL for the upcoming spring season. This is a platform our players have worked incredibly hard to get to, and one they will excel in," Collins said.

Navarrete added: "The Club is more than just 11 players on the field. It's a brotherhood that cannot be divided and a community seeking something higher. The next level is our goal and it can be achieved as long as we stand together and push our limits everyday."

The club will announce its game schedule in the coming weeks.

FC Barcroft can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
