Capital City SC Topples La Maquina in Houston On Way To National Semifinals

February 20, 2021 - Houston, TX - The first time has been the right time for Capital City SC.

Still clinging to its inaugural season championship hopes, Capital City SC counter-attacked its way to a 3-2 victory over La Maquina FC in the UPSL Central Region championship game at Matias Almeyda Training Center on Saturday.

Capital City SC (10-1-3) got a goal from Andy McDaniel in the 33rd minute, and another from Kieran Furse in the 55th to take hold of the game. Jonathan Powell assisted on Furse's goal and added one his own two minutes later for a 3-0 lead.

La Maquina FC (11-1-2) battled back with a dazzling free kick and another goal in the 81st minute but could not find an equalizer in the end.

Capital City SC is the fourth and final club to secure advancement to the UPSL National Finals, scheduled for March 5-7 at Silverbacks Park in Atlanta, GA.
