December 21, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Reyes Futbol Club as its newest expansion club ahead of the 2021 Spring Season.

Based in Murrieta, CA, Reyes FC will begin UPSL play in the Western Conference SoCal South Division I. The club is currently finalizing its venue options.

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are very excited to welcome Reyes FC to the SoCal South Division. Everyone knows the talent level in both Riverside County and San Diego County is outstanding so it's no surprise that more clubs are finally finding their way to organized National Leagues. We're proud to be the home for more expansion in Southern California, and we look forward to Reyes FC competing in the UPSL as soon as 2021."

Reyes Futbol Club has operated under various names in both Riverside and San Diego Counties since 2015. Reyes FC will now compete exclusively in the UPSL.

Edgar Villarroel and Jenny Villarroel are the owners of Reyes Futbol Club. Juan Villarroel is the Head Coach. Noe Morelos is the Assistant Coach and Chris Beardown is the Conditioning Coach.

This will be great for our players to show that they have the dedication, skills motivation to make it to the professional level," Edgar Villarroel said. "Reyes FC is looking forward to making a lot of noise locally in order to win over the fans of Murrieta, Temecula and North County, and we know this is just the beginning of a long-term vision for the club."

Eduardo Mena is Captain of Reyes FC. A 21-year-old native of Mexico, Mena previously played in Club America's youth academy.

The club will announce its upcoming UPSL game schedule.

Reyes Futbol Club is an American Soccer club currently based in Murrieta, CA, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Reyes FC will begin play in the UPSL's SoCal South Division.

Founded in 2019, Reyes FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
