September 22, 2020 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Olympians FC's Cesar Escobedo has been voted UPSL Golden Glove award winner for the 2020 Spring Season.

Escobedo led final vote-getters with 55-percent of the vote (2,763 votes) in a 5-day Twitter poll that ran from Monday, Sept. 14 to Friday, Sept. 18, 2020

Olympians FC General Manager Marcelo Piana said, "We are very happy for this accomplishment that Cesar Escobedo has earned. It is our mission to offer these types of opportunities to young athletes in Arizona. From the minute Cesar came in nothing was given to him. He has earned it. Cesar is the embodiment of, 'If you put in the work you will improve and earn your place.'"

Escobedo posted four consecutive shutouts to start the season and allowed just one goal in five appearances on the campaign as Olympians FC recorded one of the best goal-against averages (.0.13) in league history.

"I'm just so proud to be able to represent this incredible team and staff who work hard day-by-day to strive for our ultimate goal: to accomplish our dreams. In this short season affected by COVID-19, we have become more than just a team. We have become one big family that always helps each other and pushes and supports one another," Escobedo said. "Although the impact of COVID-19 was a huge disadvantage to all of us, our staff and coaches helped us work around it and keep our family bond so that we were able to succeed. Personally, this has motivated me to work harder and it has made my family very proud. I hope to motivate other young individuals to keep pursuing their dream. Lastly, I thank everyone won has supported me, especially my family, the NXTLVL Foundation, who gave me the opportunity to compete, and all the Olympians FC staff who helped me showcase my talent. Without them, none of this would be possible."

Olympians FC (5-0-1 overall) recently completed its first season in the Southwest Conference Arizona Division.
