March 2, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce International Wichita as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Wichita, KS, Inter Wichita will begin UPSL play in the Midwest Conference South Division. The club will host its home games at Stryker Soccer Stadium (2999 N. Greenwich Rd, Wichita, KS 67226).

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are excited to continue to build out the Kansas region and welcome Inter Wichita to the UPSL. It is gratifying to see the growth of soccer across the middle of the country and it's exciting to be able to provide a platform for the talented players from Kansas. We look forward to Inter Wichita competing in the UPSL soon."

Yves-Alain Kouamé Aka is the majority owner of International Wichita. A native of Côte d'Ivoire, Aka is a graduate of Wichita State University and previously worked for Wichita Wings of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL).

"I am here to serve my community and I strongly believe that Inter Wichita is the vessel through which it will be possible. After years of playing and operating a successful team in the local and regional men's leagues, I noticed much of the talent in Wichita was going unnoticed and so set out to help the professional identification process. We are excited to get started in the UPSL," Aka said.

Games are schedule to begin May 1 and a full schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

About International Wichita

International Wichita is an American Soccer club currently based in Wichita, KS, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Inter Wichita will begin play in the UPSL's Heartland Division.

Founded in 2020, Inter Wichita can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
